Continuing the Barkley-Wynn-400K saga, yesterday Charles Barkley said he’s all paid up with Wynn.
According to a lawsuit in Clark County District Court, the Wynn Las Vegas casino alleges NBA star Charles Barkley owes them $400,000 from markers he used in October 2007. And not just that, but interest and lawyer fees.
Owning up to his losses, Barkley stated he would pay what he owes. Calling himself a gambling addict, Barkley told ESPN that he figures he’s lost $10 million over the course of his gambling career.
Barkley has long spoken publicly about his struggles with gambling, understanding that “in the long run, [casinos] are going to win more money from you.”
On Monday, Barkley claimed he paid his markers, but a spokesperson for Wynn and press officers couldn’t confirm.
A spokesperson for cable network TNT, where Barkley is color commentator on basketball, said payment was sent Monday.
The check is in the mail? We suspect Barkley is good for it. At least we know where to find him.
