Eric Seidel, winner of WSOP Event #54
Eric Seidel came to life in heads up play with Chad Brown during WSOP Event #54, $5000 No Limit Deuce-to-Seven Draw w/Rebuys. Seidel took control and collected all the chips on his way to his 8th WSOP victory. He now stands alone in 5th place on the WSOP all time winners list behind Hellmuth, Brunson, Chan and Moss. The usually quiet Seidel remained calm and quiet even though the win was worth $538,835 in cash, a Corum watch and his eight Gold WSOP Bracelet. Chad Brown received $324,777 for his second place finish.
Today is the start of the 2007 WSOP Main Event. If the lines snaking through the corridors and into the cage in the Pavilion for most of Thursday is any indication the place should be a very crowded zoo by Noon Friday. Rumors circulating around the floor late Friday were predicting a sell out (10,000 Players?) by the time the Day One #4 is completed on Monday. The Gaming Lifestyle Show also is underway and adding its charm to the prevailing circus atmosphere. If you’re not in Las Vegas maybe you should be because its where the fun never sets.
